Romanian president Traian Băsescu has requested to address parliament.
Mr Băsescu had sent his request yesterday to the speakers of the bicameral assembly and asked to address parliament on the matter of internal affairs as soon as possible. As parliament decided today, he will be allowed to do so on Tuesday at 3pm.
President Băsescu has used his right to address parliament rather frequently in the past (compared to his Central and East European counterparts) and has commented on current political developments or other questions through this channel. Members of the opposition parties have already declared they will not attend the common session of both chambers.
